    Chapter 9. Funeral Expenses of Patients

Payment
    Sec. 1. If a patient in a state institution dies, the superintendentshall pay the funeral expenses if those expenses are not otherwisesupplied.

Charge of admitting county
    Sec. 2. The superintendent shall charge the county from which thepatient was admitted for the funeral expenses paid by thesuperintendent under section 1 of this chapter.

Requisites of charge
    Sec. 3. A charge made under section 2 of this chapter shall be:
        (1) signed by the superintendent;
        (2) attested by the seal of the state institution; and
        (3) delivered to the treasurer of state.

Collection
    Sec. 4. The treasurer of state shall collect the account from thecounty as a debt due to the state institution.
