    Chapter 1. Application

IC 12-27-1-1
Patients receiving service or training from services providers
    Sec. 1. This article applies to a patient receiving mental healthservices or developmental training in or from a service provider.

Individuals receiving services or training under department ofcorrection
    Sec. 2. This article does not apply to an individual receivingmental health services or developmental training under thedepartment of correction.

Private practitioners or other persons; election to be subject toarticle
    Sec. 3. A private practitioner or other person not covered by thisarticle may elect to be subject to this article by notifying the directorof the appropriate division in writing of the election.

Rules
    Sec. 4. Each division shall adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 toimplement this article.
