    Chapter 3. Environmental Policy

Purpose
    Sec. 1. The purpose of this title is:
        (1) to provide for evolving policies for comprehensiveenvironmental development and control on a statewide basis;
        (2) to unify, coordinate, and implement programs to provide forthe most beneficial use of the resources of Indiana; and
        (3) to preserve, protect, and enhance the quality of theenvironment so that, to the extent possible, future generationswill be ensured clean air, clean water, and a healthfulenvironment.

Remediation and closure goals, objectives, and standards forcertain remediation projects
    Sec. 2. (a) The remediation and closure goals, objectives, andstandards for all remediation projects conducted under IC 13-22,IC 13-23, IC 13-24, and IC 13-25-4 shall be consistent with theremediation objectives set forth in IC 13-25-5-8.5, regardless ofwhether the remediation project begins before July 1, 2009, or afterJune 30, 2009.
    (b) The groundwater quality standards adopted underIC 13-18-17-5 shall allow, as appropriate, groundwater remediationsto be consistent with the remediation objectives set forth inIC 13-25-5-8.5.
