    Chapter 18. General Coal Mine Permits

Rules
    Sec. 1. The board with jurisdiction over National PollutantDischarge Elimination System permits for coal mines shall adoptrules under IC 4-22-2 to establish a general coal mine permit thatmay be obtained for a facility instead of obtaining another morespecialized National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System coalmine permit.

Criteria for consideration
    Sec. 2. The board shall determine the criteria that must be met toqualify for the general permit.

Notice of intent
    Sec. 3. The rules adopted under this chapter must allow a coalmine operator the option of submitting a notice of intent to begoverned by the general permit requirements before the requirementsapply to the coal mine operator.
