    Chapter 5. Race and Event Permits

IC 14-15-5-1
Permit requirement
    Sec. 1. A person may not sponsor, conduct, or hold a boat race orwater ski event upon public water, including ice, unless a permit fora boat race or water ski event has been issued by the department. Aperson who has been issued a permit may not violate or fail tocomply with a condition upon which the permit has been issued.

Investigations; issuance of permit
    Sec. 2. Before issuing a permit for a motorboat race or water skievent, the department shall investigate as necessary. If thedepartment finds that a motorboat race or water ski event can beconducted and held with safety and without undue interference withthe lawful use of public water by other persons, the department shallissue the permit with the conditions the department finds necessaryto accomplish these objectives. The department shall:
        (1) state the conditions in; or
        (2) attach the conditions to;
the permit.

Violations
    Sec. 3. A person who violates this chapter commits a Class Cinfraction.
