Chapter 4. Divisions of Department

Establishment of divisions
Sec. 1. The following divisions are established within thedepartment:
(1) Accounting.
(2) Administrative support services.
(3) Budget.
(4) Engineering.
(5) Entomology and plant pathology.
(6) Fish and wildlife.
(7) Forestry.
(8) Historic preservation and archeology.
(9) Human resources.
(10) Internal audit.
(11) Land acquisition.
(12) Law enforcement.
(13) Management information systems.
(14) Nature preserves.
(15) Oil and gas.
(16) Outdoor recreation.
(17) Public information and education.
(18) Reclamation.
(19) Reservoir management.
(20) Safety and training.
(21) State museums and historic sites.
(22) State parks.
(23) Water.

Creation, consolidation, or abolition of divisions or bureaus
Sec. 2. (a) The commission may, with the approval of thegovernor, create divisions other than the divisions established bysection 1 of this chapter as the work of the department develops andas is necessary to differentiate the various functions of thedepartment.
(b) The commission may, with the approval of the governor,merge, consolidate, and abolish bureaus and divisions other than thedivision of law enforcement as the work of the department developsand as is necessary to consolidate, coordinate, or reduce thefunctions of the department.
(c) In the creation, consolidation, or abolition of bureaus ordivisions, the commission may not do the following:
(1) Exercise a power or duty not otherwise provided by law.
(2) Abdicate or otherwise avoid the execution of a duty imposedby law.

State entomologist; state forester
Sec. 3. The:
(1) director of the division of entomology and plant pathologyis the state entomologist; and
(2) director of the division of forestry is the state forester.
