Chapter 8.5. Emergency Medical Services Fund

"Department"
Sec. 1. As used in this chapter, "department" refers to thedepartment of homeland security established by IC 10-19-2-1.

"Fund"
Sec. 2. As used in this chapter, "fund" refers to the emergencymedical services fund established by section 3 of this chapter.

Emergency medical services fund
Sec. 3. (a) The emergency medical services fund is established todefray the personal services expense, other operating expense, andcapital outlay of the:
(1) commission; and
(2) employees of the department.
(b) The fund includes money collected under IC 16-31-2,IC 16-31-3, and IC 16-31-3.5.

Administration
Sec. 4. (a) The department shall administer the fund.
(b) The department shall deposit money collected underIC 16-31-2, IC 16-31-3, and IC 16-31-3.5 in the fund at leastmonthly.
(c) Expenses of administering the fund shall be paid from moneyin the fund.

Investment
Sec. 5. The treasurer of state shall invest the money in the fundthat is not currently needed to meet the obligations of the fund in thesame manner as other public funds may be invested.

Money remains in fund
Sec. 6. Money in the fund at the end of a state fiscal year does notrevert to the state general fund.As added by P.L.205-2003, SEC.36.
