    Chapter 12. Bone Marrow and Organ Donations

"Fund" defined
    Sec. 1. As used in this chapter, "fund" refers to the bone marrowand organ donor fund established by section 2 of this chapter.

Bone marrow and organ donor fund
    Sec. 2. (a) The bone marrow and organ donor fund is establishedfor the purposes under section 3 of this chapter. The department shalladminister the fund.
    (b) Expenses of administering the fund shall be paid from moneyin the fund.
    (c) The treasurer of state shall invest the money in the fund notcurrently needed to meet the obligations of the fund in the samemanner as other public money may be invested.

Purposes of fund
    Sec. 3. The department shall use money in the fund to:
        (1) establish a program; or
        (2) provide grants to programs;
to provide free human leukocyte antigen (HLA) testing, which isadministered to place an individual on a national bone marrow donorregistry and provide free testing to place an individual on a nationalhuman organ donor registry.

Rules
    Sec. 4. The department may adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 toadminister this chapter.
