"Fund"
    Sec. 1. As used in this chapter, "fund" refers to a schoolcorporation's general fund established under section 2 of this chapter.

Establishment of general fund
    Sec. 2. The governing body of each school corporation shallestablish a general fund for the operation and maintenance of localschools.

Source of fund balances; required use of fund
    Sec. 3. Except as otherwise provided by law, all receipts anddisbursements authorized by law for school funds and tax levies shallbe received in and disbursed from the fund.

Uses
    Sec. 4. Except as provided by law, any lawful school expensespayable from any other fund of a school corporation, including debtservice and capital outlay, but excluding costs attributable totransportation (as defined in IC 20-40-6-1), may be budgeted in andpaid from the fund.

Payment of athletic coaches
    Sec. 5. Remuneration for athletic coaches, whether or not theathletic coaches are:
        (1) otherwise employed by the school corporation; and
        (2) licensed under IC 20-28-4 or IC 20-28-5;
may be budgeted in and paid from the fund.
