    Chapter 6. Calculation of Basic Tuition Support Distribution

Application; distribution restricted by appropriation
    Sec. 1. Subject to the amount appropriated by the generalassembly for state tuition support and IC 20-43-2, the amount that aschool corporation is entitled to receive in basic tuition support fora year is the amount determined in section 3 of this chapter.

Calculation; basic tuition support
    Sec. 3. (a) A school corporation's basic tuition support for a yearis the amount determined under the applicable provision of thissection.
    (b) This subsection applies to a school corporation that hastransition to foundation revenue per adjusted ADM for a year that isnot equal to the foundation amount for the year. The schoolcorporation's basic tuition support for a year is equal to the schoolcorporation's transition to foundation revenue for the year.
    (c) This subsection applies to a school corporation that hastransition to foundation revenue per adjusted ADM for a year that isequal to the foundation amount for the year. The school corporation'sbasic tuition support for a year is the sum of the following:
        (1) The foundation amount for the year multiplied by the schoolcorporation's adjusted ADM.
        (2) The amount of the annual decrease in federal aid toimpacted areas from the year preceding the ensuing calendaryear by three (3) years to the year preceding the ensuingcalendar year by two (2) years.
    (d) This subsection applies to students of a virtual charter schoolwho are participating in the pilot program under IC 20-24-7-13. Avirtual charter school's basic tuition support for a year for thosestudents is the amount determined under IC 20-24-7-13.
