    Chapter 4. Officers; Treasurer

IC 21-19-4-1
Board; organization
    Sec. 1. The board of trustees shall meet at Ball State Universityin January of even-numbered years and organize by:
        (1) electing from their membership:
            (A) a president;
            (B) a vice president;
            (C) a secretary; and
            (D) an assistant secretary; and
        (2) appointing a qualified person who is not a member of theboard of trustees to serve as treasurer.

Treasurer; duties
    Sec. 2. The person appointed as treasurer of Ball State Universityis responsible for the:
        (1) receipt;
        (2) custody;
        (3) accounting; and
        (4) proper protection;
of all funds due and accruing to Ball State University and the boardof trustees from any and all sources and for whatever purposes thefunds and receipts are designated.

Treasurer; bond
    Sec. 3. Before commencing duties as treasurer, the personappointed as treasurer of Ball State University shall give bond in anamount prescribed by the board of trustees.
