    Chapter 2. Calumet Region Campus Advisory Board

Advisory board; establishment
    
Sec. 1. There is established an advisory board for the Calumetregional campuses of Indiana University and Purdue University.

Name of advisory board
    
Sec. 2. The advisory board shall be known as the IndianaUniversity-Purdue University Calumet region campus advisoryboard.

Advisory board; membership
    
Sec. 3. The advisory board consists of the following five (5)members appointed by the governor:
        (1) One (1) member who is a resident of Porter County.
        (2) One (1) member who is a resident of Newton County.
        (3) Three (3) members who are residents of Lake County.

Advisory board; terms
    
Sec. 4. Each member of the advisory board shall serve for a termequal to the greater of the following:
        (1) Four (4) years.
        (2) The date when the member's successor is appointed andqualified.

Advisory board; capacity
    
Sec. 5. The advisory board shall serve in an advisory capacity tothe board of trustees of Indiana University and the board of trusteesof Purdue University in the operation of the Calumet regionalcampuses.

Board; election of president
    
Sec. 6. After the appointment of the members of the advisoryboard and upon call of the governor, the advisory board shall meetand elect a president, vice president, and secretary.

IC 21-26-2-7 Secretary; duties
    
Sec. 7. The secretary of the advisory board shall do the following:
        (1) Keep an accurate record of the advisory board's proceedingsin a suitable book procured by the advisory board for thatpurpose.
        (2) Make copies and transcripts of the orders and proceedingsof the advisory board and transmit copies of the records to theboard of trustees of Indiana University and the board of trusteesof Purdue University.

Board; meetings; recommendations
    
Sec. 8. The advisory board shall meet at least four (4) times eachyear and submit its recommendations in writing to the board oftrustees of Indiana University and the board of trustees of PurdueUniversity.

Board; call of meetings
    
Sec. 9. The president of the advisory board shall call all requiredmeetings and may call additional meetings. The vice president of theadvisory board shall act as the president if the president is unable toattend.

Board; quorum
    
Sec. 10. Three (3) members of the advisory board constitute aquorum for the transaction of business.

Budget recommendations
    
Sec. 11. Biennially, the advisory board shall submit to the boardof trustees of Indiana University and the board of trustees of PurdueUniversity its recommendations for a budget covering the operatingand other expenses of the Calumet regional campuses. The board oftrustees of Indiana University shall submit the recommendations tothe fiscal officers for Indiana University for their consideration. Theboard of trustees of Purdue University shall submit therecommendations to the fiscal officers for Purdue University for theirconsideration.

Budget recommendations; Calumet regional campus
    
Sec. 12. This chapter does not prohibit either Indiana Universityor Purdue University from submitting proposed budgets to the budget

agency for the operation of the Calumet regional campuses.However, the recommendations made to the budget agency for theoperation of the Calumet regional campuses must have affixed therecommendations of the advisory board.
