Chapter 3. Degree Programs; Calumet Regional Campuses
IC 21-26-3-1
Diplomas to students at regional campuses
Sec. 1. The board of trustees of Indiana University and the boardof trustees of Purdue University or the board of trustees' agents,singly or together, shall grant and confer degrees in the liberal artsand sciences that are usually granted and conferred in other collegesand universities in the United States, to the students of the Calumetregional campuses who are entitled to a degree by their proficiencyin learning or other meritorious distinction. The diplomas andcertificates must:
(1) contain the common seal of the state educational institutionfrom which the student completed the student's course of study;and
(2) be signed by the faculty to authenticate and perpetuate thememory of the graduation.

Elimination of home campus requirement
Sec. 2. Attendance at a campus or campuses other than a Calumetregional campus is not required as a condition of the awarding of adiploma or certificate under this chapter.

Time and place of conferring certificate or diploma
Sec. 3. The board of trustees of Indiana University and the boardof trustees of Purdue University or the board of trustees' agents,singly or together, shall provide a suitable time and place to conferupon the graduate the certificate or diploma provided for in thischapter. The location chosen for the conferring of the diploma orcertificate must be adjacent to a city or the cities at which theCalumet regional campuses are located that offered the completecourses of study towards the earning of the diploma or certificate.The members of the advisory board shall be invited and entitled toattend the conferring of diploma or certificate performance.
