    Chapter 2. Compensation of Members of a Board of Trustees

IC 21-38-2-1
Applicability of chapter
    Sec. 1. (a) This section applies to the boards of trustees of thefollowing state educational institutions:
        (1) Indiana University.
        (2) Purdue University.
        (3) Indiana State University.
        (4) Ball State University.
    (b) Each member of the board of trustees of a state educationalinstitution is entitled to the minimum salary per diem provided byIC 4-10-11-2.1(b). The member is also entitled to reimbursement fortraveling expenses as provided under IC 4-13-1-4 and other expensesactually incurred in connection with the member's duties as providedin the state policies and procedures established by the Indianadepartment of administration and approved by the budget agency.

Organization
    Sec. 2. The board of trustees of Indiana University may:
        (1) elect one (1) member from the board to serve as president ofthe board of trustees;
        (2) elect a treasurer, secretary, and other officers they determinenecessary; and
        (3) prescribe the duties and fix the compensation of:
            (A) the president, treasurer, and secretary of the board oftrustees; and
            (B) the other officers of the board of trustees determined bythe board to be necessary.

Benefits; salary per diem; travel expenses
    Sec. 3. (a) A member of the board of trustees of Ivy TechCommunity College is entitled to the minimum salary per diemprovided by IC 4-10-11-2.1(b), unless the member holds anotherposition that is considered a lucrative office within the meaning ofArticle 2, Section 9 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana.
    (b) A member of the board of trustees of Ivy Tech CommunityCollege is entitled to reimbursement for travel expenses and otherexpenses actually incurred in connection with the member's duties asprovided in the state policies and procedures established by theIndiana department of administration and approved by the budgetagency.

Reimbursement of expenses
    Sec. 4. Members of a regional board of Ivy Tech CommunityCollege shall serve without pay but shall receive reimbursement fornecessary expenses incurred in the conduct of business of theregional board.

    Sec. 5. Each member of the board of trustees of the University ofSouthern Indiana is entitled to the minimum salary per diem providedby IC 4-10-11-2.1(b). Each member is also entitled to reimbursementfor traveling expenses and other expenses actually incurred inconnection with the member's duties, as provided in the state travelpolicies and procedures established by the department ofadministration and approved by the budget agency.

    Sec. 6. The members of the board of trustees of VincennesUniversity shall serve without compensation, except that eachmember is entitled to the salary per diem as provided byIC 4-10-11-2.1 and to reimbursement for travel, lodging, meals, andother expenses as provided in the state travel policies and proceduresestablished by the Indiana department of administration andapproved by the budget agency.
