Applicability of chapter
    Sec. 1. This chapter applies to Vincennes University.

Board of trustees duty to establish a plan of education
    Sec. 2. The board of trustees of Vincennes University shallestablish plans of education. The plans of education shall embraceeach of the languages, sciences, and branches of learning directed tobe taught in Vincennes University.

Powers and duties
    Sec. 3. The president and professors of Vincennes Universityshall instruct and give lectures to the students of VincennesUniversity, according to the plan of education that the board oftrustees of Vincennes University may approve and direct.

Faculty powers
    Sec. 4. The faculty of Vincennes University may:
        (1) with the consent of the board of trustees, grant to studentsof Vincennes University the degrees in the liberal arts andsciences that:
            (A) the professors of Vincennes University believe, by thestudents' proficiency in learning, that the students areentitled; and
            (B) are usually granted and conferred in other universities inthe United States; and
        (2) grant diplomas, under the common seal of VincennesUniversity, to authenticate, and perpetuate the memory of thegraduations.

Election and appointment of professors
    Sec. 5. (a) The board of trustees of Vincennes University shallfrom time to time:
        (1) elect and appoint a professor of divinity, of law, and ofphysic, whenever:
            (A) the board of trustees considers it necessary for the goodof Vincennes University; or
            (B) the progressed state of education in VincennesUniversity may require;        (2) agree with them for their salaries; and
        (3) point out the duties of the professors.
    (b) The professors elected and appointed under this section shallbe considered to be members of the faculty of Vincennes University.Professors hold their appointments at the pleasure of the board oftrustees of Vincennes University.

No particular tenet of religion taught
    Sec. 6. No particular tenets of religion shall be taught inVincennes University, by the president or by the professors ofdivinity, law, or physic.
