Chapter 3. Transfer of Credits Among State Educational
Institutions


IC 21-42-3-1

Transfer credits; equivalency testing

    


Sec. 1. A state educational institution shall:

        (1) accept the transfer credit of an appropriate course
successfully completed by a student at another state educational
institution having the same level of accreditation; or

        (2) allow the student to receive equal credit by successfully
completing equivalency testing in the subject area.

Graduation requirements

    


Sec. 2. The state educational institutions jointly shall identify at
least thirty (30) semester credit hours of comparable general
education courses that are eligible to be earned by a student to fulfill
graduation requirements at each state educational institution.

Transferability of general education course credits

    


Sec. 3. Credits earned in a course identified under section 2 of this
chapter must be transferable among all state educational institutions.

IC 21-42-3-4

Offering of identified courses

    


Sec. 4. Based upon the demand for enrollment in a course
identified under section 2 of this chapter and the resources available
to the state educational institutions, an identified course shall be
offered through:

        (1) onsite instruction;

        (2) telecommunication; or

        (3) a combination of methods described in subdivisions (1) and
(2);

at on-campus or off-campus sites.
