School of public health
    
Sec. 1. The board of trustees of Indiana University may establisha school of public health. The board of trustees shall provideadequate equipment and competent personnel for the school of publichealth. The school of public health may use any property acquiredbefore July 1, 2007, by Indiana University for the medical schooldepartment of public health.

Purpose; duties
    
Sec. 2. (a) The Indiana University department of public healthshall provide instruction of students in public health problems,personnel, and equipment. The Indiana University department ofpublic health may provide short courses in:
        (1) public health practice for physicians;
        (2) dental health practice for dentists; and
        (3) public health for nurses and all other persons desiring todevelop a technical understanding in public health matters.
The courses provided under this section may also be provided for laygroups in phases of public health and sanitary measures appropriateto the occupation or profession of the groups.
    (b) The courses provided under this section may be held at anyconvenient place in Indiana.
    (c) The courses provided under this section for nurses must beplanned in cooperation with the director of nursing education forIndiana University.

Tuition and fees
    
Sec. 3. The school of public health may charge and collect atuition fee for courses provided under section 2 of this chapter. Theamount of the tuition fee for a course may not exceed the actual costof providing the course. However, if, in the discretion of the boardof trustees acting in conjunction with the state department of health,a tuition fee at cost would discourage attendance in any courseprovided under section 2 of this chapter, the tuition fee may bedecreased or waived entirely for all persons taking the course.
