IC 22-9.5-1-1
Purpose
    Sec. 1. The purposes of this article are the following:
        (1) To provide for fair housing practices in Indiana.
        (2) To create a procedure for investigating and settlingcomplaints of discriminatory housing practices.
        (3) To provide rights and remedies substantially equivalent tothose granted under federal law.

Discriminatory act committed because of familial status
    Sec. 2. Under this article, a discriminatory act is committedbecause of familial status if the act is committed because the personwho is the subject of discrimination is:
        (1) pregnant;
        (2) domiciled with an individual younger than eighteen (18)years of age in regard to whom the person:
            (A) is the parent or legal custodian; or
            (B) has the written permission of the parent or legalcustodian for domicile with that person; or
        (3) in the process of obtaining legal custody of an individualyounger than 18 years of age.
