Duties of division of weights and measures
    Sec. 12. It shall be the duty of the division of weights and

measures of the state department of health to enforce all theprovisions of this chapter, and it shall prescribe such rules as it mayfind necessary for carrying into effect the provisions of this chapter,and shall cause such examinations and tests to be made as may benecessary in order to determine whether hampers, round stavebaskets, splint baskets, climax baskets, and baskets or containers forberries or other small fruits and vegetables, or parts thereof, subjectto this chapter, meet its requirements. For this purpose, theauthorized officers and agents of the division of weights andmeasures may visit factories, stock rooms, and other places ofbusiness where such hampers, baskets, and containers, or partsthereof, are manufactured or held for sale or shipment, or offered forsale, and may enter cars, vessels, other vehicles, and places under thecontrol of carriers engaged in the transportation of such hampers,baskets, and containers, or parts thereof, and may take samples ofsuch hampers, baskets, and boxes, or parts thereof or, upon writtenrequest from the division of weights and measures or its authorizedagents. Any manufacturers, shippers, carriers, or holders of suchhampers, baskets, and containers or parts thereof shall furnishsamples of such hampers, baskets, and containers, or parts thereof,as are required for the purpose of inspection as in this chapterprovided.

Official cooperation
    Sec. 13. For carrying out the purpose of this chapter, the divisionof weights and measures of the state department of health isauthorized to cooperate with state, county, and municipal authorities,manufacturers, dealers, and shippers.

Sale by weight or numerical count
    Sec. 15. Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to permit salesby standard hampers, baskets, or containers without regard to weightor numerical count when required by law to be sold by weight ornumerical count.
