    Chapter 3. Licensing Agency; Board Secretary

Secretary; appointment; duties
    Sec. 1. The licensing agency shall provide the board with acompetent person to serve as secretary of the board. The secretarymay not be a member of the board. The secretary, through thelicensing agency, shall keep a complete and accurate record of allproceedings of the board and perform any other duties assigned bythe board.

Clerks, assistants, and investigators
    Sec. 2. The licensing agency shall provide the board clerical orother assistants, including investigators, that are necessary for theproper performance of the board's duties.

Joint personnel with professional engineers registration board
    Sec. 3. The licensing agency may assign joint personnel to workfor both the board and the state board of registration for professionalengineers.

Receipt and deposit of money; expenses; fee
    Sec. 4. (a) Except as provided in IC 25-21.5-11-4 and subsection(b), the secretary shall receive and account for all money collectedunder this article and deposit the money in the state general fundwith the treasurer of state. All expenses incurred in theadministration of this article shall be paid from the state generalfund.
    (b) In addition to a registration fee determined underIC 25-21.5-7-5, the board shall establish a fee of not more thantwenty dollars ($20) for a registered land surveyor and a registeredland surveyor in training to be paid at the time of:
        (1) issuance of a certificate of registration; and
        (2) renewal of a certificate of registration;
under this article to provide funds for administering and enforcingthis article, including investigating and taking action against personsviolating this article. All funds collected under this subsection shallbe deposited in the registered land surveyor and registered landsurveyor in training investigative fund established byIC 25-21.5-11-4.
