Recognition of registered nurse license by party state
    
Sec. 1. A license to practice registered nursing issued by a homestate to a resident in that state shall be recognized by each party stateas authorizing a multistate licensure privilege to practice as aregistered nurse in the party state. A license to practice licensedpractical/vocational nursing issued by a home state to a resident inthat state shall be recognized by each party state as authorizing amultistate licensure privilege to practice as a licensedpractical/vocational nurse in the party state. To obtain or retain alicense, an applicant must meet the home state's qualifications forlicensure and license renewal and all other applicable state laws.

Limitation or revocation of multistate licensure privilege of a nurseby a party state; notification of action
    
Sec. 2. A party state may, in accordance with state due processlaws, limit or revoke the multistate licensure privilege of any nurseto practice in the state and may take any other actions underapplicable state laws necessary to protect the health and safety of thestate's citizens. If a party state takes such an action, it shall promptlynotify the administrator of the coordinated licensure informationsystem. The administrator of the coordinated licensure informationsystem shall promptly notify the home state of any such actions byremote states.

Compliance with party state practice laws; jurisdiction of nurselicensing board, courts, and laws of party state
    
Sec. 3. A nurse practicing in a party state must comply with thestate practice laws of the state in which a patient is located at thetime care is rendered. In addition, the practice of nursing is notlimited to patient care, but includes all nursing practice as defined bythe state practice laws of a party state. The practice of nursingsubjects a nurse to the jurisdiction of the nurse licensing board, thecourts, and the laws in that party state.

Compact does not affect additional requirements for advancedpractice registered nursing
    
Sec. 4. This compact does not affect additional requirementsimposed by states for advanced practice registered nursing. However,a multistate licensure privilege to practice registered nursing grantedby a party state shall be recognized by other party states as a license

to practice registered nursing if a license is required by state law asa precondition for qualifying for advanced practice registered nurseauthorization.

Ability to apply for nurse licensure in party state; agreement byother party states
    
Sec. 5. Individuals not residing in a party state continue to be ableto apply for nurse licensure as provided under the laws of each partystate. However, the license granted to these individuals is notrecognized as granting the privilege to practice nursing in any otherparty state unless explicitly agreed to by that party state.
