    Chapter 6. Additional Authority Invested in Party State NurseLicensing Boards

IC 25-23.3-6-1
Authorized actions by party state nurse licensing board
    
Sec. 1. Notwithstanding any other powers, a party state nurselicensing board may do the following:
        (1) If otherwise permitted by state law, recover from a nurse thecosts of investigations and disposition of cases resulting fromany adverse action taken against the nurse.
        (2) Issue subpoenas for both hearings and investigations thatrequire the attendance and testimony of witnesses and theproduction of evidence. Subpoenas issued by a nurse licensingboard in a party state for the attendance and testimony ofwitnesses and the production of evidence from another partystate shall be enforced in the latter state by a court withjurisdiction, according to the practice and procedure of thatcourt applicable to subpoenas issued in proceedings pendingbefore it. The issuing authority shall pay any witness fees,travel expenses, mileage, and other fees required by the servicestatutes of the state where the witnesses and evidence arelocated.
        (3) Issue cease and desist orders to limit or revoke a nurse'sauthority to practice in the state.
        (4) Adopt uniform rules as provided for in IC 25-23.3-8-3.
