    Chapter 0.5. Applicability

Exempting practice of other occupations and professions
    Sec. 1. This article does not apply to the practice of an occupationor a profession for which an individual is licensed, certified, orregistered in Indiana by a state agency if the individual is practicingwithin the scope of the individual's license, certificate, orregistration.

Licensing exemption
    Sec. 2. The provisions of this article that require a license toengage in the practice of occupational therapy do not apply to thefollowing:
        (1) The practice of occupational therapy by an individual whois practicing occupational therapy as part of a supervised courseof study in an educational program approved by the board.
        (2) The practice of occupational therapy by an occupationaltherapy assistant who is:
            (A) certified under this article; and
            (B) acting under the supervision of an occupational therapist.
        (3) The practice of occupational therapy by an occupationaltherapy aide under the direct supervision of:
            (A) an occupational therapist; or
            (B) an occupational therapy assistant.

Occupational therapy assistant; requirements
    Sec. 3. An occupational therapy assistant shall:
        (1) be certified under this article; and
        (2) practice under the supervision of an occupational therapistwho is licensed under this article.
