    Chapter 1. Application

Application of article
    
Sec. 1. This article does not apply to the following:
        (1) A physician assistant trainee or a student enrolled in aphysician assistant or a surgeon assistant educational programaccredited by an accrediting agency.
        (2) A physician assistant employed in the service of the federalgovernment while performing duties incident to thatemployment.
        (3) A health care professional, technician, or other assistant oremployee of a physician who performs delegated tasks in theoffice of a physician but who does not render services as aphysician assistant or profess to be a physician assistant.

Physician authority to delegate
    
Sec. 2. This article grants a supervising physician or physiciandesignee the authority to delegate, as the physician determines isappropriate, those tasks or services the physician typically performsand is qualified to perform.

Prohibition
    
Sec. 3. This article does not grant authority to a physicianassistant to function independently of a physician's supervision.
