    Chapter 1. Regulation of Boat Pilots by Clark County

Limited right to license
    Sec. 1. The governor shall from time to time, grant to suchnumber of skillful persons as he may think proper and necessary, notto exceed eight (8) in number, licenses for the term of four (4) years,authorizing and empowering such persons to pilot boats over the fallsof the Ohio.

Bond
    Sec. 2. Before any person licensed as aforesaid, shall act as suchpilot, he shall execute bond, payable to the state of Indiana, withsufficient sureties, to be approved by the clerk of the circuit court ofClark County, in the penalty of five thousand dollars ($5,000),conditioned for the faithful discharge of his duties as such pilot;which bond shall be filed in the office of such clerk for the use ofpersons injured by such pilot as such, and shall not be void upon amere recovery until the penalty is exhausted.

Establishment of pilot's fees
    Sec. 4. Such pilots shall receive for their services such fees asmay, from time to time, be fixed by the board of commissioners ofthe county of Clark; which tariff of fees shall be published at leastonce a year in some newspaper published in said county, and postedup in three (3) public places in the town of Jeffersonville.

Revocation of license; grounds; procedure
    Sec. 5. The board of commissioners of the county of Clark mayrevoke such license at any time for incapacity, habitual drunkenness,change of domicil or neglect of duty; ten (10) days' notice havingbeen given to such pilot. Such pilot may appeal from such revocationto the circuit court of Clark County within ten (10) days; givingappeal bond in the penalty of one hundred dollars, ($100), to beapproved by the board of commissioners of the county of Clark.
