    Chapter 32. Coverage for Chemotherapy

Application of chapter
    Sec. 1. This chapter applies to a policy of accident and sicknessinsurance that provides coverage for both of the following:
        (1) Orally administered cancer chemotherapy.
        (2) Cancer chemotherapy that is administered intravenously orby injection.

"Cancer chemotherapy"
    Sec. 2. As used in this chapter, "cancer chemotherapy" meansmedication that is prescribed by a physician to kill or slow thegrowth of cancer cells.

"Insured"
    Sec. 3. As used in this chapter, "insured" means an individual whois entitled to coverage under a policy of accident and sicknessinsurance.

"Policy of accident and sickness insurance"
    Sec. 4. As used in this chapter, "policy of accident and sicknessinsurance" has the meaning set forth in IC 27-8-5-1.

Prohibition on coverage limitations
    Sec. 5. Coverage for orally administered cancer chemotherapyunder a policy of accident and sickness insurance must not be subjectto dollar limits, copayments, deductibles, or coinsurance provisionsthat are less favorable to an insured than the dollar limits,copayments, deductibles, or coinsurance provisions that apply tocoverage for cancer chemotherapy that is administered intravenouslyor by injection under the policy of accident and sickness insurance.
