    Chapter 20. Verification and Oaths

Affirmation or representation; form
    
Sec. 1. (a) Wherever in this article it is provided that any pleading,petition, report, or other document of any kind be verified, or that anoath be taken, it shall be sufficient if the subscriber simply affirmsthe truth of the matter to be verified by an affirmation orrepresentation in substantially the following language: "I (we) affirm,under the penalties for perjury, that the foregoing representation(s)is (are) true.

    (b) Any person who falsifies an affirmation or representation offact shall be subject to the same penalties as are prescribed by lawfor the making of a false affidavit.
