Chapter 42. Changes in Registration Records Due to PrecinctBoundary Changes

Applicability of chapter
Sec. 1. This chapter applies whenever a county executiveestablishes new precincts under IC 3-11-1.5.

Transfer of previous registration records
Sec. 2. If the county executive establishes any precincts underIC 3-11-1.5 so that voters who would not otherwise be required toregister are transferred to or included within a precinct other than theprecinct in which the voters were registered and voted at the lastelection, the circuit court clerk or board of registration shall transferthe affidavits of registration from the precinct registration record inwhich the affidavits are filed to the precinct registration record inwhich the affidavits belong.

Time for transfer
Sec. 3. The transfer may be made at any time after the orderestablishing the precincts becomes effective and before the day onwhich the clerk or board is required to deliver the copy of theregistration record or certified copies to the inspectors of theprecincts.

County voter registration office to make appropriate changes toaffidavit or form
Sec. 4. At the time of transfer, the county voter registration officeshall amend:
(1) the original affidavit filed by the voter to indicate thechanged mailing address, street name, or residence number onthe affidavit; and
(2) the entry for the voter in the computerized list underIC 3-7-26.3.
