    Chapter 11. Costs and Attorney's Fees

Costs of proceeding and attorney's fees
    Sec. 1. (a) The court periodically may order a party to pay areasonable amount for:
        (1) the cost to the other party of maintaining or defending anyproceeding under this chapter, IC 31-16-2 through IC 31-16-10,or IC 31-16-12;
        (2) attorney's fees; and
        (3) mediation services;
including amounts for legal services provided and costs incurredbefore the commencement of the proceedings or after entry ofjudgment.
    (b) The court may order the amount to be paid directly to theattorney, who may enforce the order in the attorney's name.

Exemption for Title IV-D agencies
    Sec. 2. Neither costs or attorney's fees may be taxed against anagency, or the agency's agents, that is authorized to maintainproceedings under this chapter, IC 31-16-2 through IC 31-16-10, orIC 31-16-12 by Title IV-D of the federal Social Security Act (42U.S.C. 651 through 669) and IC 31-25-4-17.
