Uniformity of the law
    Sec. 1. In applying and construing this article, consideration mustbe given to the need to promote uniformity of the law with respect toits subject matter among states that enact it.

Invalidity of provisions
    Sec. 2. If a provision of this article or its application to a personor circumstance is held invalid, the invalidity does not affect otherprovisions or applications of this article that can be given effectwithout the invalid provision or application, and to this end theprovisions of this article are severable.

Request for relief prior to July 1, 2007
    Sec. 3. A motion or other request for relief made:
        (1) in a child custody proceeding; or
        (2) to enforce a child custody determination;
that was commenced before July 1, 2007, is governed by the law ineffect at the time the motion or other request was made.
