    Chapter 4. Court Administrators

Application of chapter
    Sec. 1. This chapter does not apply to a county having a courtadministrator under Indiana law before July 29, 1975.

Creation of position
    Sec. 2. The position of court administrator may be created by amajority vote of the judges in section 3 of this chapter in everycounty having a population according to the last United Statesdecennial census of more than one hundred thousand (100,000)persons.

Appointment
    Sec. 3. The court administrator shall be appointed by and serve atthe pleasure of the majority of the judges of the following courts ofthe county sitting in committee:
        (1) Circuit court.
        (2) Superior court.
        (3) Juvenile court.
        (4) Probate court.
        (5) Criminal court.

Full-time position
    Sec. 4. The court administrator:
        (1) shall devote full time to the court administrator's officialduties; and
        (2) may not engage in any other profession for profit.

Duties; salary
    Sec. 5. (a) Sitting in committee, the judges of the courts listed insection 3 of this chapter in each county shall determine the duties ofthe court administrator; and the court administrator shall perform theadministrative duties the judges determine.
    (b) The salary of the court administrator shall be determined bya majority of the judges listed in section 3 of this chapter in eachcounty, sitting in committee. The court administrator's salary shall bepaid by the county upon the order of the majority of the committeeof judges.

Additional personnel; salaries
    Sec. 6. (a) To implement this chapter, the judges of the courts,sitting in committee, may appoint additional personnel in sufficientnumber so that the courts are adequately served by the courtadministrator.
    (b) The salaries of the additional personnel shall be paid by thecounty upon the order of the committee of judges.
