Chapter 7. Juvenile Court Jurisdiction

Circuit courts; exception

    


Sec. 1. A circuit court has juvenile jurisdiction unless this title
provides that another court in the same county has exclusive juvenile
jurisdiction.

Other courts; conditions of jurisdiction

    


Sec. 2. A court other than a circuit court has juvenile jurisdiction
only if:

        (1) this title specifically provides that the court has juvenile
jurisdiction; or

        (2) this title provides that the court has the same jurisdiction as
a circuit court having juvenile jurisdiction.

Juvenile court docket, order book, and records

    


Sec. 3. (a) When in session under this chapter, a court shall be
known as the juvenile court.

    (b) A juvenile court shall maintain its own docket, order book,
and records.

Rules

    


Sec. 4. A juvenile court may adopt rules to:

        (1) simplify; and

        (2) expedite;

its own proceedings and decisions.
