Judicial circuit
    
Sec. 1. Elkhart County constitutes the thirty-fourth judicial circuit.

Magistrates
    
Sec. 2. (a) The judges of the Elkhart circuit and superior courtsmay jointly appoint two full-time magistrates under IC 33-23-5 toserve the circuit and superior courts.
    (b) A magistrate continues in office until removed by the judgesof the circuit and superior courts.

Establishment of standard superior court
    
Sec. 3. (a) There is established a court of record to be known asthe Elkhart superior court.
    (b) The Elkhart superior court is a standard superior court asdescribed in IC 33-29-1.
    (c) Elkhart County comprises the judicial district of the court.

Judges; location of court sessions
    
Sec. 4. The Elkhart superior court has six (6) judges. Four (4) ofthe judges of the court shall hold sessions in the Elkhart Countycourts building in Elkhart. Two (2) of the judges of the court shallhold sessions in an appropriate place in Goshen selected by thecounty commissioners.

Rules
    
Sec. 5. The judges of the Elkhart superior court may make rulesfor conducting the business of the court.

Jurisdiction
    
Sec. 6. The Elkhart superior court has the same jurisdiction as theElkhart circuit court.
