Judicial circuit
Sec. 1. Johnson County constitutes the eighth judicial circuit.

Magistrate
Sec. 2. (a) The judges of the Johnson circuit and superior courtsmay jointly appoint one (1) full-time magistrate under IC 33-23-5 toserve both the circuit and superior courts.
(b) The magistrate continues in office until removed by the judgesof the Johnson circuit and superior courts.

Establishment of standard superior courts
Sec. 3. (a) There are established three (3) courts of record to beknown as the Johnson superior court No. 1, Johnson superior courtNo. 2, and Johnson superior court No. 3.
(b) Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, each Johnsonsuperior court is a standard superior court as described in IC 33-29-1.
(c) Johnson County comprises the judicial district of each court.

Judges; location of court sessions
Sec. 4. (a) The Johnson superior court No. 1 and Johnson superiorcourt No. 2 each have one (1) judge who shall hold sessions in theJohnson County courthouse in Franklin.
(b) The Johnson superior court No. 3 has one (1) judge who shallhold sessions in a place to be determined and provided by the boardof county commissioners of Johnson County.

Transfer of actions and proceedings
Sec. 5. The judge of a Johnson superior court may, with theconsent of the judge of another Johnson superior court, transfer anyaction or proceeding from the superior court to the other superiorcourt.

Sitting of judges
Sec. 6. The judge of a Johnson superior court may, with theconsent of the judge of another Johnson superior court, sit as thejudge of the other superior court in any matter as if the judge of the
superior court were an elected judge of the other superior court.

Jurisdiction
Sec. 7. Each Johnson superior court has concurrent jurisdiction,both original and appellate, with the Johnson circuit court in all civilactions and proceedings at law and in equity, and in all criminal andprobate matters, actions, and proceedings of which the Johnsoncircuit court has jurisdiction.

Small claims and misdemeanor division
Sec. 8. The Johnson superior court has a standard small claimsand misdemeanor division.
