Judicial circuit
    
Sec. 2. Morgan County constitutes the fifteenth judicial circuit.

Establishment of superior court
    
Sec. 3. There is established a court of record to be known as theMorgan superior court.

Standard superior court
    
Sec. 4. (a) Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, theMorgan superior court is a standard superior court as described inIC 33-29-1.
    (b) Morgan County constitutes the judicial district of the court.

Judges; election
    
Sec. 5. (a) The Morgan superior court has three (3) judges. Eachjudge holds office for a term of six (6) years beginning on the firstday of January after election and until the judge's successor is electedand qualified.
    (b) Every six (6) years, the voters of Morgan County shall elect atthe general election the judges for the superior court.

Location of court sessions
    
Sec. 6. The Morgan superior court shall hold its sessions in theMorgan County courthouse in Martinsville.

IC 33-33-55-7
Judicial powers    Sec. 7. (a) Each judge of the Morgan superior court may make andadopt rules and regulations for conducting the business of theMorgan superior court.
    (b) Each judge has all powers incident to a court of record inrelation to the attendance of witnesses and punishment for contemptand the power to enforce the judge's orders.
    (c) Each judge of the court may administer oaths, solemnizemarriages, take and certify acknowledgments of deeds, give allnecessary certificates for the authentication of records andproceedings of the court, and make and execute certificates ofqualification and moral character of persons petitioning to becommissioned as notaries public.

Magistrate
    
Sec. 8. The judges of the Morgan circuit and Morgan superiorcourt may jointly appoint one (1) full-time magistrate underIC 33-23-5. The magistrate continues in office until removed by thejudges of the circuit and superior courts.

Jurisdiction
    
Sec. 9. The Morgan superior court has concurrent jurisdiction,both original and appellate, with the Morgan circuit court in all civilactions and proceedings at law and in equity and in all criminal andprobate matters, actions, and proceedings of which the Morgancircuit court has jurisdiction. However, the Morgan circuit court andone (1) judge of the Morgan superior court have exclusivejurisdiction in all juvenile matters, actions, and proceedings.
