"Jury pay fund"
    Sec. 1. As used in this chapter, "jury pay fund" refers to the jurypay fund established under section 2 of this chapter.

Establishment
    Sec. 2. (a) A jury pay fund is established for each county tosupplement the cost of paying jury fees. The jury pay fund isadministered by the county auditor.
    (b) The jury pay fund consists of amounts deposited by the countyauditor under IC 33-37-8-5(c) and the fees collected underIC 33-37-5-19 from defendants who:
        (1) committed a crime;
        (2) violated a statute defining an infraction; or
        (3) violated an ordinance of a municipal corporation.

Appropriation of cost of jury fees
    Sec. 3. (a) Upon receipt of monthly claims submitted on oath tothe county fiscal body by a clerk serving the county, the county fiscalbody shall appropriate from the jury pay fund to the court served bythe clerk an amount to supplement the cost of jury fees.
    (b) After all claims received by a county fiscal body during amonth have been paid under subsection (a), the county fiscal bodymay appropriate any unused and unencumbered money remaining inthe jury pay fund to maintain and improve the jury system in thecounty.
