United States land office records; sale of canal or Michigan roadlands
    
Sec. 3. (a) This section applies to the following documents keptat any land office of the United States located in Indiana or at anyoffice for the sale of canal or Michigan road lands:
        (1) The register, catalog, tractbook, platbook, and description oflands.
        (2) Copies of documents described in subdivision (1) that areduly certified as true and complete by the proper custodian ofthe document.
        (3) Copies of documents described in subdivision (1) that are:
            (A) duly certified by the commissioner of the department ofadministration as true and complete copies from the originaldocuments, or from copies of the original documents; and
            (B) legally deposited in the land office division of thedepartment of administration.
    (b) Documents described in subsection (a) are admissible inevidence in civil actions in all courts in Indiana, and are prima facieevidence of the truth of their contents.

Certificate of purchase; United States land office
    
Sec. 4. Every certificate of purchase at a land office of the UnitedStates is evidence of legal title to the land described in the certificate.

Michigan road lands; sales; register
    
Sec. 5. (a) The:        (1) register of the sales of the Michigan road lands located inthe Indiana state archives, commission on public records; and
        (2) certified copies of any entry in the register under the seal ofIndiana;
are admissible in evidence in all courts and places.
    (b) The register, or a certified copy of the entry of the sale of atract of land described in the register, by any person named in theregister as the purchaser of the land, is prima facie evidence that:
        (1) the person designated in the register was the purchaser ofthe land; and
        (2) the title to the land has been conveyed by the state to thepurchaser in fee simple.

Land patents; certificates of purchase; evidence
    
Sec. 6. The following documents are admissible in evidence in allcourts and places, with the same force and effect as if the originalwere produced:
        (1) The record of all:
            (A) patents;
            (B) certificates of purchase; and
            (C) other evidence in writing of the sale of real estate;
        whether issued by the United States or this state, or made byany person or corporation.
        (2) All duly certified copies of the record of the documentsdescribed in subdivision (1).
