Chapter 6. Misrecorded Instruments

Application of chapter

    

Sec. 1. This chapter applies when the records kept in the
recorder's offices of the various counties:

        (1) contain records of instruments purporting to be deeds,
mortgages, trust deeds, assignments, releases, or other
instruments entitled to record by Indiana recording statutes; and

        (2) the records of instruments described in subdivision (1) have
been recorded in records other than those designated by statute
for the recording of instruments.

Admissibility

    

Sec. 2. The records of instruments and certified copies of records
of instruments described in section 1 of this chapter are admissible
in evidence after the instruments have been recorded for twenty (20)
years.
