    Chapter 34. Qualified Military Base Enhancement Area

"Area"
    Sec. 1. "Area" refers to a qualified military base enhancement areaestablished by this chapter.

"Technology park"
    Sec. 2. As used in this chapter, "technology park" refers to acertified technology park established under IC 36-7-32.

"Qualified military base"
    Sec. 3. "Qualified military base" means a United Statesgovernment military installation that:
        (1) has an area of at least sixty thousand (60,000) acres; and
        (2) is used for the design, construction, maintenance, andtesting of electronic devices and ordnance.

Establishment of qualified military base enhancement areas
    Sec. 4. A qualified military base enhancement area is establishedfor each of the following:
        (1) A technology park located within a radius of five (5) milesof a qualified military base. The geographic area of a qualifiedmilitary base enhancement area established under thissubdivision is the geographic area of the technology park.
        (2) A county in which all or part of a qualified military base islocated. The geographic area of a qualified military baseenhancement area established under this subdivision is thegeographic area of the county other than any area in which atechnology park described in subdivision (1) is located.

Duties of Indiana economic development corporation
    Sec. 5. The Indiana economic development corporation shall dothe following:
        (1) Coordinate area development activities.
        (2) Serve as a catalyst for area development.
        (3) Promote each area to outside groups and individuals.
        (4) Establish a formal line of communication with businesses ineach area.
        (5) Act as a liaison between businesses and local governments

for any development activity that may affect each area.
        (6) Act as a liaison between each area and residents of nearbycommunities.
