Applicability of chapter
    Sec. 1. This chapter applies to an agency that is an entity thatholds title to or possesses property in the name of, or on behalf of,the state.

Agency performing functions assigned to department
    Sec. 2. Notwithstanding another provision of this article, butsubject to sections 3 and 4 of this chapter, an agency described insection 1 of this chapter may perform the functions assigned to thedepartment under this article with respect to property the agencyholds title to or possesses in the name of, or on behalf of, the state.

Agency requesting department to perform functions
    Sec. 3. An agency described in section 1 of this chapter mayrequest that the department perform any of the functions assigned tothe department under this article with respect to property the agencyholds title to or possesses in the name of, or on behalf of, the state.

    Sec. 4. The requirements of this article for filing instruments withthe state land office apply to an agency described in section 1 of thischapter.
