    Chapter 18. Retrocession of Property From the United States

Consent of state to retrocession of jurisdiction
    
Sec. 1. The consent of the state is given to the retrocession ofjurisdiction, either partially or wholly, by the United States overproperty within Indiana over which the United States exercisesjurisdiction exclusively or concurrently with the state.

Acceptance by governor
    
Sec. 2. The governor is authorized to accept for the state theretrocession of jurisdiction if the governor considers retrocession tobe in the best interest of the state.

Perfection
    
Sec. 3. Retrocession of jurisdiction under this chapter must beperfected as follows:
        (1) An agent of the United States authorized to dispose ofproperty must give written notice of the retrocession to thegovernor.
        (2) The governor must accept the retrocession on behalf of thestate on the written notice.
        (3) The notice, with the governor's acceptance, must be:
            (A) recorded in the office of the recorder of the countywhere the property is located; and
            (B) filed in the land office.
