Chapter 7. Collection of Money Owed State by Counties forInmate Clothing Costs

Clothing claims against county
Sec. 1. For all claims that any state institution (as defined byIC 12-7-2-184) may have against any county for the payment ofclothing furnished to any patient of such institution, which patientwas admitted to such institution from such county, the superintendentof such institution shall make out an account therefor against suchcounty, in a manner as hereinafter provided.

Putnamville correctional facility claims against county
Sec. 3. For all claims that the Putnamville Correctional Facilitymay have against any county for any money advanced by suchinstitution for transportation allowance to a discharged inmate ofsuch institution which inmate was admitted to such institution fromsuch county, the superintendent of such institution shall make out anaccount therefor against such county, in a manner as hereinafterprovided.

Collection procedure
Sec. 4. Accounts of state institutions described in this chaptershall be paid as follows:
(1) All such accounts shall be signed by the superintendent ofsuch institution, attested to by the seal of the institution, andforwarded to the auditor of the county for payment from whichcounty the inmate or patient was admitted.
(2) All accounts accruing between January 1 and June 30 ofeach year shall be forwarded to the county auditor on or beforeOctober 1 of such year.
(3) All accounts accruing between July 1 and December 31 ofeach year shall be forwarded to the county auditor on or beforeApril 1 of the following year.
(4) Upon receipt of any such account, the county auditor shalldraw a warrant on the treasurer of the county for the paymentof the account, and the same shall be paid out of the funds ofthe county appropriated therefor.
(5) The county council of each county of the state shall annually
appropriate sufficient funds to pay such accounts.
