Custodian of public records; duties
Sec. 1. The secretary of state shall be the custodian of the publicrecords of the state of Indiana, except as required by law to bedeposited elsewhere, and shall keep his office and all books andpapers thereto pertaining in such places in the state buildings as maybe assigned. He shall arrange, record, file, register, index, and keepall books, blanks, reports, orders, receipts, accounts, papers,documents and business pertaining to his office, or deposited therein,and in such form and manner as will make the same most convenientof access.
