Purpose
    Sec. 1. Purpose of Codification. This article is intended to be acodification and restatement of applicable or correspondingprovisions in prior law. A citation to prior law in the Indiana Codeshall be construed as a citation to the appropriate provision of thisarticle if the prior law is reenacted in the same or restated form bythis article.
