Vacation pay and paid holidays; sick leave
Sec. 1. (a) Retroactive to January 1, 1969, employees of the statewho are compensated for their services on an hourly basis may begranted a vacation with pay and paid holidays by executive order ofthe governor.
(b) Employees of the political subdivisions of the state may begranted a vacation with pay, sick leave, paid holidays, and othersimilar benefits by ordinance of the legislative body of a county, city,town, township, or controlling board of a municipally owned utility,board of directors or regents of a cemetery, or board of trustees ofany library district.
(c) Payment of vacation benefits so granted may be made inadvance of any vacation taken by such an employee.

Paid breaks for expressing breast milk
Sec. 2. (a) The state and political subdivisions of the state shallprovide reasonable paid break time each day to an employee whoneeds to express breast milk for the employee's infant child. Thebreak time must, if possible, run concurrently with any break timealready provided to the employee. The state and politicalsubdivisions are not required to provide break time under this sectionif providing break time would unduly disrupt the operations of thestate or political subdivisions.
(b) The state and political subdivisions of the state shall makereasonable efforts to provide a room or other location, other than atoilet stall, in close proximity to the work area, where an employeedescribed in subsection (a) can express the employee's breast milk inprivacy. The state and political subdivisions shall make reasonableefforts to provide a refrigerator or other cold storage space forkeeping milk that has been expressed. The state or a politicalsubdivision is not liable if the state or political subdivision makes areasonable effort to comply with this subsection.
