Chapter 1. Definitions

Application
Sec. 1. The definitions in this chapter apply throughout thisarticle.

"Commission"
Sec. 2. "Commission" means the interstate jobs protectioncommission.

"Existing jobs"
Sec. 3. "Existing jobs" means employment by an individual,corporation, partnership, limited liability enterprise in any form,association, or business enterprise, for profit or nonprofit, that has aplace of business within the state.

"Party state"
Sec. 4. "Party state" means a state that has legally joined thisagreement.

"State"
Sec. 5. "State" means a state, territory, or possession of the UnitedStates, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of PuertoRico.

"Unnecessary relocation"
Sec. 6. "Unnecessary relocation" means the physical movementfrom one (1) place to another of the permanent place of business,employees, jobs, or buildings of a business, for the primary purposeof obtaining a special incentive given by any level of state or localgovernment, as an enticement or condition for the particularmovement.
