    Chapter 1. Purpose

Purpose
    Sec. 1. (a) It is the intent of the general assembly to ensure andimprove the health of the citizens of Indiana by encouraging andfacilitating the development of:
        (1) a statewide system for the electronic exchange of health careinformation; and
        (2) other health informatics functions in Indiana.
    (b) The general assembly finds that the goals described insubsection (a) can be carried out and achieved most efficiently by abody politic and corporate.
