    Chapter 23. Motor Carrier Regulation Fund

Establishment; purpose
    
Sec. 1. The motor carrier regulation fund is established for thepurpose of funding:
        (1) the administration and enforcement of this article; and
        (2) the administration and enforcement of IC 6-6-4.1 andIC 6-8.1-4-4.

Deposit of fees
    
Sec. 2. The treasurer of state shall deposit fees collected underthis article, IC 9-20-18-14.5, and IC 9-29-6-1.5 in the motor carrierregulation fund.

Investments
    
Sec. 3. The treasurer of state shall invest the money in the motorcarrier regulation fund not currently needed to meet the obligationsof the fund in the same manner as other public funds may beinvested.

Money not to revert to state general fund; transfer of excess tomotor vehicle highway account
    
Sec. 4. Money in the motor carrier regulation fund does not revertto the state general fund. However, if the amount of money in thefund at the end of a fiscal year exceeds five hundred thousand dollars($500,000), the treasurer of state shall transfer the excess from thefund to the motor vehicle highway account established in IC 8-14-1.
