    Chapter 13. Rail Branch Lines

Authority to build and operate
    
Sec. 1. Any railroad company organized under the laws of thisstate is hereby authorized to build and operate, in addition to themain line authorized by its charter or articles of association, branchrailroads from any point or points on its main line, to or through anyadjacent mineral lands, containing coal, iron or building stone, not,however, exceeding in distance fifty (50) miles from the nearestpoint on said main line: Provided, however, That no railroadcompany shall build any such branch railroad if the owners ofone-third its stock object thereto.

Construction and maintenance; charter powers
    
Sec. 2. The powers of the charter of any railroad companyconstructing such branch in relation to the entering upon and takingpossession of and acquiring title to any ground and materialsnecessary in the construction and maintenance of such road, shall be,and the same are hereby, extended to the construction andmaintenance of any such branch road.
