    Chapter 8. Railroad Rights-of-Way.Recording Deeds

Time for recordation
    
Sec. 1. Any railroad corporations, lessee or assignee or receiver,or other person or corporation, running, controlling or operating, orthat may hereafter construct, build, run, control or operate, anyrailroad into or through this state, shall, within forty-five (45) daysfrom the date of execution of any conveyance, lease, release or othercontract affecting the right of way of any railroad hereafterconstructed, record, or cause to be recorded, in the proper records inthe recorder's office of the county wherein the lands are situate soconveyed, leased, released or constructed.

Sec. 2. Every such conveyance, lease, release, or other contractaffecting any right of way of any railroad not so recorded inforty-five (45) days, as provided for in section 1 of this chapter, shallbe void as against any subsequent purchaser, lessee, or mortgagee ingood faith and for a valuable consideration.
